The Promise of the Holy Spirit

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to His disciples in the upper room. After His resurrection He gave many convincing proofs, and instructed them to understand His death and resurrection in context of God's plan and Kingdom purpose. They were instructed to wait and stay in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came.
The church in our time is given a new beginning, a time to start afresh with an open canvas, trusting in the leading, empowerment and work of God's Holy Spirit. We need to let Jesus continue to convince us, even through our doubts or fears. Trust in Jesus, trust in God. Acts 1:1-5 May 23, 2021. First Baptist L.A. 10:00 am worship time.
